LGBTQ strong activist and Ugandan veteran media personality Andrew Mwenda has today made it official with his long-term lover, only known by the name Fifi. According to photos circulated on social media, the Independent Magazine CEO held a small, private, and highly luxurious function.
The two seem to have opted for a civil marriage. And they can be seen with the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Hon Nobert Mao and the Minister of Security, Hon Jim Muhwezi.
Well, little is known about Andrew Mwenda and Fifi as he has successfully shielded her from the media. There are few photos of the two appearing together in public. However, the two in 2022 celebrated a 22nd anniversary although they haven’t been legally married.
Word has it that Fifi is a cousin to the first lady, Hon Janet Kataha Museveni. This explains the journalist’s close ties to the first family and Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s PLU.
This move comes at a time Andrew Mwenda is fighting so hard to see that the Anti-Homosexuality Act (AHA) is quashed. Earlier this week, the Constitutional Court rejected the appeal led by Mwenda and MP, Fox Odoi.
He however vowed that they will take the matter to the Supreme Court and make sure that it is quashed. Apparently, the journalist wants equal rights for homosexuals. In fact many have been accusing him of being gay. A few years ago he said that one can say evil things about him but he is gay.

“Finally I have the attention of my FDC friends and allies after calling them mentally retarded. They have accused me of being gay. I accept this honour. Yes, I test human flesh on occasion and it is salty I must say.” This was after being accused of being a homosexual.
