Biography

Born as Kabuubi Akram on 18th November 2003 in Bulenga, Uganda, He got the name Zedmonk Ssabatontomi after joining music and arts. He stayed with his parents until he left home to develop himself.

Education Background

Zedmonk Ssabatontomi attained his education as he attended Makindye Citizens Primary school – Salaama for his PLE, Trinity High school in Masajja for his Form 1-2, then Princess Diana High school in 2019 for his Uganda Certificate of Education. He is still persuing his education as his dream is to get a bachelor’s degree and more.

Music Career

He started rapping in 2019 during his Senior four vacation and released his first song called ‘Byokola’, a song he says is a dedication to Andy Events Music label and promoter Zest for giving him his first musical breakthrough.

In June 2020, he represented his hometown, Bulenga on the Street credit show in which he participated in over 150 street battles ultimately earning titles as the Verbalking of RapWhatISee and RapwhatISay and two opportunities on two music projects called street credit bad and street go down remix featuring DJ Crim.

On 3rd March 2021, he released another song, ‘Work Si Myaka’ about having self belief for an inspiration and later participated in the MTN pulse Rap battles. During the same period, he was nominated in the FOY Awards Africa as the Entertainment Founder of the Year.

He was part of the 8th edition of the Youth and hip-hop boot camp at Lunkulu island at which he learned marketing and digital distribution skills and collaborated with fellow rappers on two songs, ‘lay low & Apio’

Zedmonk Ssabatontomi released a Ug Hip-hop gospel drill song Titled Bow before God as a start up of the year 2023.

Awards, Nominations and Endorsements

Zedmonk Ssabatontomi won this Rookie of the year at this year’s MTN UG Hip-hop Awards and this new track ‘Amazima Agakaawa’ is a victory lap for him.

Additionally, after winning the Rookieoftheyear22 in the MTNUGHiphopAwards22, Zedmonk has been nominated in Judelucanmag Nigerian Awards as the Next Rated Entertainer (Nominee) , Won the Favorite Hip-hop artist of the year award (UrbanChoiceAwards22), Nominated Male talented Rising Artist (Bivulu Awards), Nominated Hip-hop artist of the year (Ghana Young Entertainers awards 23)

Hip-hop inspires Zedmonk  hence his well know monicker ‘Ssabatontomi’ which stands for epic rhyming abilities. The rapper is Known for his unique freestyles that are both educative and entertaining.

Humanitarian

He believes that his talent is God-given with a mission of fight youth unemployment, support families, fight for girl-child and Women rights and foster positive growth in the communities. Inspired by the late Esther Nakajjigo. he started a non-profit organization called ZedmonkCares in his name to further this cause.

On 3rd May, 2024  the rapper will be attempting the Guinness World Records Longest Rap Marathon by an individual setting a new record. This is to be held at Namaste in Kampala and it will be free entry.
