Shock as Man in Ntungamo Cuts Nephew into 20 Pieces, Arrested

Man in Ntugambo Nelson Akandwanaho cuts nephew

Man in Ntungamo identified as Nelson Akandwanaho on 14th January 2024, committed a crime of cutting his nephew called Ariiho Patrick aged 11 years into 20 pieces. Police was notified and he was arrested before he eloped.

This ugly act happened in the village of Kyanyanzira, Nyanga parish in Rubare sub-county Ntungamo District. It is said that, Nelson Akandwanaho invited his victim to his house when everyone at Ariiho Patrick’s home had gone to church, and cut him into pieces.

This case was reported by a one Basiima Stephen aged 63 years who is the grandfather of the deceased after learning of the incident. Ariiho Patrick was a pupil at Kiyombero primary school in Kyanyanzira cell Nyanga parish in Rubare sub county Ntungamo District.

FACTS ABOUT THIS CASE

It is alleged that, on 14/01/2024 at around 1100hrs one Alex got information that the suspect Nelson Akandwanaho was in his house cutting the deceased Ariiho Partrick who calls the suspect his uncle.

This triggered Alex to mobilize the village and went to the house of the suspect Akandwanaho Nelson and upon peeping through the door, they saw him chopping the deceased feet into pieces.

They pleaded with him to open the door, and he violently chased them but they managed to arrest him. Upon his arrest, he made a sickening confession by saying where other missing body parts were.

He revealed that, some of the body parts were thrown in his toilet and other parts were thrown in the neighbor’s toilet which belongs to the grandfather of the deceased. He was later on escorted to Omungyenyi police post where case file CPS NTUNGAMO vide CRB 66/24 MURDER BY CUTTING was opened against him.

Police intervened and did the findings that are briefly listed as follows; Crime scene was visited by Homicide team from CPS Ntungamo and documented by Socco. Statements were recorded from witnesses and body taken for examination at scene on PF 48c pending postmortem report.

It was finally found out that, the suspect Nelson Akandwanaho has history of mental illness. More so, it was found out that, other body parts like a leg, one arm, one feet and fingers were already cut into pieces and put in a saucepan to be cooked. The suspect is held at police for further investigations.
