It’s a cold Sunday for Africa, especially Namibia after the death of president Hage Geingob. This news has been confirmed by Namibia’s Vice President Nangolo Mbumba.
The statement further informs that, President Hage Geingob died from a hospital in Windhoek where he had gone to get a specialized treatment. More so, it should be noted that H.E Hage has been battling a silent battle of cancer which he made public on 8th January 2024.
So, the real cause of his death is not yet fully established. And it is known that he died with his wife and children by his side. Before his death, Hage Geingob was serving his second term in office after becoming president in 2015.
Before that, he served as Namibia’s Prime Minister from 1990 to 2002 under the administration of former president, Sam Nujoma. Before going to Windhoek, he had made several travels to the US for the treatment of the same disease, cancer.
