Mbarara University Advertises for Vice Chancellor – Qualifications and How to Apply

Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) Vice Chancellor job vacancy how to apply

One of Uganda’s leading public universities, Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) has put up a notice advertising the job of the institution’s Vice Chancellor.

The University revealed that in a bid to achieve its goals, it’s hiring a team of highly qualified and skilled persons who can ably provide quality and relevant education at both the national and international levels.

Therefore, all qualified Ugandans are called upon to apply for this role of the Vice Chancellor. Applicants can start applying effective 25th October 2024. According to the advert put out by the University, the most suitable candidate will be appointed as per the terms and conditions determined by the University Council.

They will have a tenure of 5 years renewable for one more term. The University also stipulated some of the roles that shall be expected of the appointed person. As per the Universities and Other Tertiary Institutions Act of 2001, the VC will be responsible for the academic, administrative, and financial affairs of the University.

In the absence of the Chancellor, the VC will be expected to preside at ceremonial assemblies of the University and confer degrees and other academic titles and distinctions of the University. Other responsibilities of the VC can be found in the job advertisement.
