Reports coming in indicate that, the Katwe Police are actively investigating an incident involving aggravated robbery and murder of the armed robbers that occurred on January 18, 2024, at approximately 18:00hrs in Ndejje Kibutika Village, Makindye Ssabagabo Municipality, Wakiso District. This left Shana Distributors Ltd employees injured and robbers killed.
According to the preliminary investigation, employees of Shana Distributors Ltd, Kikuubo, namely Galabuzi Haruna (driver), Babirye Patricia (salesperson), and Mfitumukiza Henry (offloader), were ambushed by armed assailants during their routine product distribution. The assailants, while demanding money, resorted to the use of sheer violence when they met with hesitation from the workers.
After the armed robbers firing warning shots and nothing was being done, the assailants instead shot Babirye Patricia in the leg, subsequently taking a substantial amount of money, and they were given approximately 20 million Ugandan shillings, as a result of using force. Then, these criminals later fled on a motorcycle registration number, UES 820K.
Consequently, the victims raised an alarm, and a pursuit ensued, leading to the robbers abandoning the motorcycle. A group of residents and riders in Namasuba apprehended the suspects, resulting in a confrontation. More so, two suspects succumbed to injuries at the scene, while another one passed away upon arrival at Mulago Hospital.
Those armed robbers who died on spot have been identified as Bakka Mark and Ssemanda Brain. The police have recovered identification and voter cards from the bodies, and the alleged robbery weapon has been secured as evidence.

Regrettably, the stolen cash from Shana Distributors Ltd employees has not been recovered. It is believed to have been taken by members of the public during the confrontation. The injured victims are receiving urgent medical attention, and their detailed statements on the incident have been documented.
