Zedmonk Ssabatontomi Promises to Bring Guinness World Record Home

Zedmonk Ssabatontomi break Guinness World Record Rap Marathon by an Individual

Young rising rapper Zedmonk Ssabatontomi has set out to break the Guinness Book of Records record for the longest rap marathon by an individual. Apparently, the existing record stands at 48 hour 1 min 10 secs. It was achieved by by PONEY (Japan), in Koto, Tokyo, Japan from 22-24 April 2023.

According to Zedmonk’s camp, he aims to beat this record by an extra 7 hours with his target being at 55 hours. However, he also aims to go for an extra 25 hours to the 80 hour mark.

This feat is expected to last from 3rd May to 5th May 2024 for the official breaking of the record. The extra hours will be added in if he manages to go ahead past the indicated time.

Besides, Zedmonk will be accorded a 5 minute break for everyone hour that he raps. The rapper will have a gap at this record from Namaste in Kampala.

During a press conference held in Kampala at National Theatre, the Uganda Musicians Association expressed its support towards the rapper. UMA was represented by the deputy president King Saha and the secretary general, Phina Mugerwa.

Saha called upon all well-wishers to come and support this young man as he attempts to achieve his dreams. On the other hand, Phina said that they decided to support the rapper because he’s aiming at something truly breathtaking.

“We are surprised and amazed by what this boy is trying to do. Attempting to achieve this record is truly breathtaking” he noted.

Meanwhile Zedmonk said that he got the idea last year. He then together with his team submitted an application to the Guinness World Records in December to have a go at this record.

He therefore promised to do his best to bring this record home (Uganda) as he attempts to break the existing one. Among those that will grace and witness this include, famous blogger Kato Switch, Mama D, and all artistes of Uganda.
