There is information coming out purporting that, there is a Cabinet reshuffle that is happening soonest from H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. This is spreading on social media like wild fire, and State House through the Deputy Press Secretary to the President Faruk Kirunda has clarified on the matter.
This rumor about a possible Cabinet reshuffle 2024 started spreading the day Henry Okello Oryem, the State Minister for Foreign Affairs made utterances that suggested that whoever dies of anger in Uganda is an idiot.
This rumor made its way through Twitter mostly and a ‘list’ was published of those Cabinet Ministers that were dropped, retained and the new entrants. This is how the Deputy Press Secretary to the President Faruk Kirunda comes in to clarify on the matter. And refuted the rumor saying that there is no official reshuffle going on.
“The General Public is urged to disregard information circulating and purporting a Cabinet reshuffle by H.E the President. No such reshuffle has been carried out and in case the appointing authority reshuffles his Cabinet, you will be informed through the official channels” Faruk Kirunda explained.
It should however be known that, President Museveni last made a reshuffle in March 2018 where he fired the likes of Henry Tumukunde as security minister replacing him with Elly Tumwine (RIP).

Additionally, H.E the President has been expected to reshuffle his Cabinet since April last year 2024 when he vowed “political action” against his ministers that are pulling him down and doing there own things.
