Hon Thomas Tayebwa Meets Woman Accusing Him of Land Grabbing

Speaker Thomas Tayebwa accused of land grabbing in Abayita Ababiri by a one Rukunde Esther

A lady this week took to social media and brought claims forth of how the deputy speaker of parliament, Hon Thomas Tayebwa had arrested her husband and was in the process of grabbing their land.

This woman was identified as Esther Lubunde from Entebbe. She said that the alleged land is located in Abaita Ababiri. According to Ms. Esther, she has gone to all offices that would-be responsible for helping but she has been assured that she won’t get any help.

Soon as Hon Thomas Tayebwa saw her post on social media, he distanced herself from this saga. He said that he knows nothing about her allegations and nor does he have any land he’s involved in Abayita Ababiri along Entebbe road.

The Ruhinda North MP however asked to reach out to this lady.  Finally the two met today and the issues were resolved. It was established that the said Thomas Tayebwa is in fact not the deputy speaker but rather another person.

The MP said that this lady apologized to him and he accepted the apology. However, he asked people to always be cautious before spreading such malicious information. This is because as much as he’s forgiven her, his reputation has already been tainted.

“This afternoon, I met with Esther Lubunde, accompanied by her father, sister, and lawyers, the lady who was misled to believe that I was involved in her ongoing land disputes, as shown in a viral video. She graciously apologized after realizing that I have no connection to the Tayebwa in whose name the land under contention is registered.”

“While I have accepted her apology, I kindly request the public to refrain from spreading unfounded and malicious messages about individuals they do not know. While my reputation has been irreparably damaged, at least Esther can now find peace knowing that I had no involvement in her situation,” wrote Hon Thomas Tayebwa.
