There has been a fatal accident at Namboole as the truck was heading to Kampala city lost control and rammed into ten other vehicles which were stuck in a traffic jam.
Two people have so far been confirmed dead, and many more than 20 severely injured. This is the second accident of this kind happening at the same place still this year. The Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesman Luke Owoyesigyire said the officers are still searching the wreckage of the vehicles where they believe there are people trapped.
Furthermore, in this Namboole accident, so far, the injured have been taken to Mulago Hospital for urgent medical attention. It is still an active scene, and we don’t know whether the death toll will rise,” Assistant Superintendent of Police Owoyesigyire told this website.
More so, the identities of the victims in this Namboole accident were yet to be known by press time following the incident at the black spot where heavy trucks often ram into other vehicles. By 8pm on Thursday, police teams stationed at the scene to rescue those trapped in the wreckage.
