Joseph Kony, the head of the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA), has had his bases attacked by Ugandan commando units in the Central African Republic (CAR). The Tuesday morning strike was planned in conjunction with the military forces of the CAR and South Sudan. According to officials, the three LRA camps east of Sam Ouandja were the target of the attack.
According to Aides, the army publicist was in Kyankwanzi for an event. Inside trustworthy defense authorities revealed that “all camps were destroyed during the attack and equipment was captured.” It should be recalled that the notorious LRA leader, Kony eluded capture by Russian Wagner mercenaries in the Central African Republic in April of 2024.
In addition to 21 counts of war crimes (murder, cruel treatment of civilians, intentionally directing an attack against a civilian population, pillaging, inducing rape, and forced enlistment of children), he is suspected of committing 12 more counts of crimes against humanity (murder, enslavement, sexual enslavement, rape, and inhumane acts of inflicting serious bodily injury and suffering) in northern Uganda in 2003 and 2004.

According to credible reports, UPDF commandos carried out airborne operations using helicopters before launching a ground assault.
This is the first such commando operation against LRA that the UPDF has carried out in a number of years. It was still unknown if Joseph Kony was inside the bases that were targeted at the time this item was published. According to officials, they were evaluating the circumstances to ascertain the amount of the attack’s damage and the number of victims.
