Ugandan singer Geosteady has spoken out about his financial struggles following a split from his partner, Hindu Kay, leaving fans concerned for the musician’s wellbeing. The “Tokendeza” hitmaker, whose real name is Hassan Kigozi George, claims he is struggling to support himself and his children after alleged theft by friends.
Geosteady, who shares two children with socialite Hindu Kay, revealed that he has been struggling financially since the couple’s separation four months ago. The situation worsened, he says, when friends allegedly stole money and property from him. Now, the singer stresses that he is struggling to afford basic necessities including rent.
Rumours have circulated in recent months that the singer’s struggles stem from drug use, with some Ugandan YouTubers claiming Geosteady admitted to being “bewitched.” He however, denies these claims, stating that his financial troubles are the root cause of his problems.
“It is true I am suffering from financial constraints, where I can hardly afford to look after my kids and pay rent, but all of this started when my friends stole my money and took some of my property.” He stated in a video that has since gone viral.
Geosteady’s plight has resonated with fans across Uganda, with many expressing concerns for the star and his young family. The singer, known for hit songs like Sembera and Viola, has been a prominent figure in the Ugandan music scene for over a decade.
