A shocking discovery has rocked the community of Hoima, in Western Uganda as a beloved local teacher, Moses Katusabe, was found dead near the construction site of the Hoima International Stadium.
The circumstances surrounding his death are still unclear, but police are investigating what appears to be a brutal murder. This has helped the police to shape the scope of their investigations and get to its bottom.
Katusabe, who taught mathematics at Bwiikya Muslim Secondary School, was last seen alive on the evening of Friday, October 11th. Residents were horrified to find his body the next morning, bearing multiple cuts to the head that suggest a possible machete attack.
“We cannot tell exactly what happened, but we are still in shock,” said Alfred Businge, a resident who lives near where Katusabe’s body was found.  “His lifeless body was seen this morning. We informed the police, who arrived at the scene.” He added.
The discovery was made in the Kicwamba Trading Centre, an area that’s been buzzing with activity due to the ongoing stadium construction. This proximity to a high-profile project has added another layer of complexity to the case.
Local officials are urging calm as the investigation goes on. Councillor Idd Magezi, who represents Hoima Central Division, acknowledged the community’s concern and stressed the importance of allowing authorities to do their work.
Julius Hakiza, the spokesperson for the Albertine regional police, confirmed that an investigation is underway. He promised to release more information as it becomes available.
