Uganda's Nixon Kitimoi wins the Africa Under 40 award 2024 in Banking and Finance

Uganda’s Nixon Kitimoi has been announced the winner of the Forty Under 40 Awards 2024. The Chief Investment Officer of 1Stock Limited was among the few Ugandans that were nominated in the continent’s prestigious awards last year.

Nixon Kitimoi was tussling it out with Collins Muriuki of Terra Softworks and people voted for Uganda’s Nixon due to his well tracked record in the banking sector and his relentless effort towards innovation in the same field.

Nixon’s Istock is an investment management company that oversees over $90 million in Assets Under Management and Capital Commitments. This only has placed him in the list of top men to look at on the African continent.

While giving his acceptance speech, Nixon Kitimoi said that he is glad to be part of those that are uniquely positioned to help drive change in line with global trends, government policies and help extend services and bridge the income gaps.

“We are uniquely positioned to help drive change in line with global trends, government policies and help extend services and bridge the income gap by giving MSMEs access to markets and the ability to compete through financial advisory, cash management and others.” he said.

It should be noted that, in the Forty Under 40 Awards 2024 other Ugandans that were nominated included; Aaliyah Sekatawa, Judith Heard, Nyesiga Oscar, Nalukenge Sharon Salmon, Julius Kabugu and Desire Rachael Luzinda.

Briefly, who is Nixon Kitimoi?

He was born on 21 August 1996 in the Central Region of Uganda and he is a Ugandan – Kenyan Investment Manager, Investor and Financier.

Kitimoi Nixon attended school up to University level starting from Hillside Primary School and Kampala Parents’ School for his primary education, joined King’s College Budo and Vienna College Namugongo for secondary education.

He would then go on to attain the ACCA qualification and other courses and professional certifications from various universities and institutions. He is one of the youngest investors in Uganda with an investment portfolio of more than $6bn from syndicated investment funds and special purpose vehicles.
