The Minister of Higher Education John Chrysostom Muyingo has expressed his disappointment in the parents of the students who came in a chopper for their prom party. It should be noted that a pair of students at Elite High School in Entebbe turned up in a chopper for their prom Party.
These two sparked a flood of different opinions on social media. Many people since have been talking about this incident. Most seemed to be bitter about it and labeled this as extravagant. They went as far as attacking the school’s UNEB performance saying that it’s mediocre.
They therefore couldn’t fathom how it permits them to hold parties full of pomp and glamour for their learners. Others even went into the future of these learners saying that these are the kind of kids who always fail in life and find it hard to cope.
However, there were those who came to the defense of these students. They wondered why most people are bitter and against two kids’ enjoying their life to the fullest. Besides, it was their parents’ money and most of their bitter people are living a miserable life.
Well, Minister John Chrysostom Muyingo wasn’t impressed either by this development. He termed it as horrible. According to the Minister, he also has the money but he has never thought of doing something so extravagant for his kids.
On top of that, money is a scarce resource that should be given value. Therefore he wondered what values these parents are imparting into their kids.

“Are those things happening in Uganda? Where are we going? I have never thought of hiring a chopper. Money is a scarce resource. It shouldn’t just be given out and spent just like that even if their parents have money. What message are they sending to the children? That is horrible,” the minister said about this situation.
