Juma Wasswa Balunywa aka JWB is currently a hot and selling cake in Uganda and beyond borders due to his unique campaigning strategy. He has used TikTok mostly and Twitter/X to buy a huge piece in the guild campaigns at MUBS. Here is the list of other candidates vying for the MUBS Guild president seat 2024.
On this list, we shall look at how everyone is influencing his campaigns, the strategies they are employing to make sure they win this tight race. Although the rest are being advised to let Juma Wasswa Balunywa stand alone as a sole candidate, but these men have decided to let come what may, they are not buckling off.
Before we delve in the list, one may ask themselves, when are the MUBS Guild president elections taking place? We are reliably informed that, the elections will take place either in the end of March or early April. That is why the campaigns are already heated up because there is no more enough time.
On the list is Benedict Luwata, he is also contesting for the big seat at Makerere University Business School (MUBS). He emerges as the third favorite of the four candidates that are eyeing the Guild seat.
This is according to the trial polls so far that have been carried out by our team in MUBS by randomly asking students at the campus, who their favorite 27th guild president would be, from those contesting.
Benedict Luwata is currently doing BPSM and he is in his Second Year at the university, he joined the race late after the UYD party dumped Juma Wasswa and fronted Ben.
Steward Chopre Ofoyrwoth is also another candidate vying to be the 27th Guild president at MUBS 2024. His campaign slogan is “Restoring Students’ Values” and he is contesting under the National Unity Platform party.
His campaign is very much busy as he has been seen everywhere at campus and outside busy asking students to vote him. Steward Chopre Ofoyrwoth is currently the second favorite of the students according to the test polls we conducted at MUBS campus.

He is known for being resilient, and always having the will to serve, and he is mostly praised for being a transparent man. He has served in the MUBS 25th and 26th GRC, he is the Nebbi Youth Chairman, a former UNSA Speaker Uringi SS.
And he is well known for his Steward Chopre Tournament that happened early this month. Steward Chopre Ofoyrwoth is currently doing Human Resource Management and he is in Second year. Let is dive in to the third contestant.
Third candidate is called Amanya Moses who is pursuing Bachelor of International Business and he is in his Second year. More so, he is the fourth favorite of the students according to the polls.
His campaign has less fire maybe he has lost hope already, but still he is being seen around campus holding meetings here and there. He is contesting under the NRM flag.
Lastly is Juma Wasswa Balunywa (JWB) who is the students’ favorite currently as we wait for the MUBS guild president elections to get close. He is the 26th MUBS Guild Chief Fresher and has been the Vice President Mvule Generation Club.
More so, Juma Wasswa Balunywa is the Vice Chairman MUBS Muslim Students community, and External Coordinator Basoga Nsete community. The candidate is pursuing Bachelor of Business Computing and in his Second year.
JWB is the Guild president candidate under independent with the slogan ‘Building a road to tomorrow” which has caught a lot of attention from students.
