A businessman Turyamuhaki Sam a resident of Nateete was seriously hurt in a shocking attempted murder that is currently under investigation by the Nateete Division Police. The incident happened on May 13, 2024, somewhere around 8:20 p.m. at Nateete Ku Taano’s Bashir Grain Millers. A video has been going viral on social media depicting the incident.
Turyamuhaki Sam 55, a resident of Kabawo Zone in Lubaga Division, narrated that a Bashir Grain Millers employee attacked him while he was carrying out a financial transaction at a mobile money spot.
“I was verifying a sum of 8 million shillings when an employee, Kiiza Ashiraf, entered the office with a sack. Before I knew it, he pulled out a machete and a hammer and demanded the money.” narrated Turyamuhaki Sam.
Following a battle, Mr. Turyamuhaki suffered serious injuries on his head but was able to wrestle off Kiiza who fled into thin air. Bystanders assisted in subduing the attacker and providing him with medical assistance.
“We are investigating an incident of attempted murder,” ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Public Relations Officer for the Kampala Metropolitan Police said.
“Exhibits, including the weapons used in the assault, have been recovered from the scene. CCTV footage is also being reviewed to aid in apprehending the suspect who fled after the attack,” said Owoyesigyire.

Anyone with knowledge regarding Kiiza Ashiraf’s whereabouts is urged to come forward by the Kampala Metropolitan Police.
