The Uganda Musicians Federation (UMF), a group led by Eddy Kenzo as its president is set to fall into things. As you read this, we have been exclusively tipped by our close insider from parliament that, a clique of musicians is set to eat 30 billion shillings.
This comes after UMF president Eddy Kenzo alias Edrisa Musuuza met with president Museveni recently, and they killed a bird we all don’t know about. But still, however much the components of the meeting were highly classified, we have learnt one of them, and that is a group of Uganda musicians receiving a ‘boost’ of 30 billion shillings from the government.
These are the same things that saw Cindy Sanyu, the president of the oldest Musicians association called Uganda Musicians Association (UMA) go bare knuckles with the government. She appeared on her social media handles and asked the government to ‘fairly distribute’ resources amongst all musicians.
This money is set to be got from the current supplementary budget that is almost getting to parliament for approval. This will see other government bodies get more money plus the State House as well.
On the same note, it should be remembered that, Uganda musicians have have been getting handouts from the government, despite having the freedom to stage shows which normally sell out.
We on that point do not know why exactly these musicians are always asking money from the government, yet they do shows and earn hugely. After doing the mathematics from this 30 billion Ugx deal musicians are set to crack.
We found out that, that money is enough to build a national referral hospital which can in turn help many Ugandans, that giving it to a small clique of musicians. In brief, our beloved musicians are going to pocket a hospital.
