IBANDA: A thief has been hacked to death in Ibanda district by a mob according to news obtained by this website. Another is said to be on the run in a foiled heist that happened last night.
It’s said that thieves have become a plague in the district stealing whatever they come across. However on this fateful day, one of the thieves got hacked by an angry mob while another is being hunted down by Uganda Police in Ibanda district.
On this particular day, these goons waylaid a certain young lady aged 20 years who was coming from work as they hid around a dark corner near her house. Soon as she approached them, they jumped out and demanded for her phone which forced her to make an alarm.
In the scuffle that ensued, they cut her 7 times on the head with a machete but the locals arrived in time and started mob justice on them.
They beat one to pulp and he eventually died while the other vanished into thin air. All this happened in Kyaruhanga village which is found in Ibanda Town Council. The lady who these thieves attacked is currently in ICU at Ibanda Hospital (Kagongo) receiving treatment.
Meanwhile, it’s said that these thieves in Ibanda usually come from areas such as Nyakatookye since nobody knew them in Kyaruhanga. They steal things such as cows, goats’ boda bodas among other things.

The locals said that they have had enough since the Police doesn’t do enough to protect them with their property. This is why they are going to take matters into their own hands and safeguard themselves from such goons.
