The Higher Education Students’ Finance Board (HESFB) was established by the Higher Education Students’ Financing Act, No. 2 of 2024 as a body corporate to provide Loans and scholarships to financially constrained students intending to pursue higher education in Uganda.

So there is call for Students’ loan applications for academic year 2023/2024 for eligible students and this covers for those who have been admitted in their first year under listed Undergraduate Diploma and Degree programmes in Public Universities, Private Chartered Universities and other Tertiary Institutions that we shall list for you below.

Here is what the Students’ Loan Covers

This Higher Education Students’ Finance Board  Students’ Loan covers tuition fees and functional fess, aids and appliances for persons with disabilities and research funds are covered when the budget allows.

It is offered to students joining first year at a higher institution of learning and to those going for Undergraduate Diploma and Degree programmes only.

What are the Requirements for Applying for this Students’ Loan 2024?

Well, a copy of admission letter from the participating Higher Education Institutions, a copy of the applicant’s national ID, copies of death certificates if parents are deceased, copies of result slips and other academic documents.

Additionally, a copy of birth certificate is needed to apply for this students’ loan 2024, a recent passport photo, proof of payment of non refundable Loan Processing fee of Ugx53,000.

More so, a sketch map of the applicant’s current address or location, a sketch map of the applicant’s home of origin if it is different from the above location. More requirements can be found at this website HERE.

The non-refundable loan processing fee of Ugx53,000 is to be paid to the HESFB LOAN APPLICATION bank account no. 3740300006 Centenary Bank or 0136669053643 DFCU Bank. For those with challenges you can call +256392174999 for help at HESBF.
