Col Edith Nakaleman launch Electronic Investors Protection Portal (EIPP)

The State House Investors Protection Unit headed by its new boss Col. Edith Nakalema has done it. This is after she announced the launch of the Electronic Investors Protection Portal (EIPP) that is meant to protect investors from kawukuumi.

The Electronic Investors Protection Portal (EIPP) is a system that is designed to to a lot of things, but majorly it is for protecting the investors in Uganda. So now, investors can be safeguarded and protected as they increase their investment muscles in Uganda.

What does this system do?

Guidance to investors through access to authentic government sources, it is a comprehensive reporting mechanism for investor inquiries and complaints. Also, it is to enforce robust enforcement and follow-up on reported issues, complemented by regular feedback to investors.

More so, it is a valuable bridge connecting investors with relevant Ministries, Departments, and Agencies. And lastly it has the language translation features to accommodate non-English speaking investors.

With this in place, we shall see minimal cases of investors that are scammed by unbecoming Ugandans who do not wish the best to this country.

In the recent years, we have been witnessing many cases of non Ugandan investors being scammed. Even in one of his recent address, president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni said that he knows his investors are disturbed by stubborn Ugandans. He also added that he knew those Ugandans.

Further more, it is not only non Ugandan investors that are disorganised by stubborn Ugandans, but also local ones. They find themselves in the wrong hands of ‘give me money i take you to the president’ and end up losing all they are meant to invest.

What is the State House Investors Protection Unit?

H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni established the State House Investors Protection Unit (SH-IPU) in his unwavering commitment to create a conducive environment for Investors by safeguarding them from corrupt practices and unnecessary bureaucracies.

The unit was officially announced on May 1, 2023, during the Labor Day celebrations held at Namutumba district headquarters. It is dedicated to eradicating corruption tendencies that may hinder the growth and prosperity of investors in Uganda.

Collaboratively, the unit works hand in hand with the Uganda Investment Authority (UIA), Uganda Revenue Authority (URA), Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB), and the Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration.

Kudos Col. Edith Nakalema and team, this is a huge milestone that will be remembered as a mark that was put in place to boos the investment environment in our country Uganda.
