Singer Sheebah Karungi has appeared in the news again after throwing heavy rants at UMEME. This comes after she spends nights in total darkness at her home in Munyonyo. She used Twitter to expose the electricity company.
In her post that was full of rage, Sheebah asserted that, she spent 3 days without power. And she resorted to charging her phones from the nearest shop. It was at this point that she decided to throw jabs in the face of UMEME and asked them to act and save her the shame.
“Wabula UMEME temuntamya wange. So, I have been home for 3 days and I don’t have electricity. It’s 2024 and am charging my phones at my neighbor’s shop, me! Wow, in Munyonyo. What do you mean? Unless you want to give me a job, I have contacted you for days and no response, come on” Sheebah Karungi ended her bitter rant.
We later learnt that, her power was restored hours after she made the post. And she hit back at UMEME asking them what the customer care lines are for. Furthermore, she ‘spoke’ for those without voices asking UMEME that now what are those people that don’t have a voice like hers dealing with power issues.

“My electricity was restored, but seriously though, did I have to first expose you here to respond? What are customer care lines for? So for someone that is not Sheebah, who doesn’t have Twitter, a regular person how do they handle power issues?” she posted.
UMEME as a company has on countless occasions failed Ugandans, there customer care is dysfunctional, they take long to respond and do things on their will. Those days they used to inform people whenever they would be doing routine loadshedding, but currently it is a different story.
