Unfortunate news indicates how three individuals lost their lives in an accident that happened on Wednesday night. This was along the Masaka-Kampala route. It’s said that the three people died on the spot while another was rushed to hospital with critical injuries.
The unfortunate incident happened on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at around 11:40 p.m. This Masaka-Kampala highway accident was reported to the territorial traffic police in Mpigi. It occurred in Kamengo at the Kasuule Ayanguwa wetland, which is located along the Masaka-Kampala highway.
Reports have it that two vehicles were engaged in the terrible incident through a head on collision. The cars have been identified as M/Vs UAL 605 U Mitsubishi Fuso and UBH 247L Subaru Forester.
The Public Relations Officer of the Directorate of Traffic and Road Safety SP Kananura Michael confirmed that three people in the Subaru Forester were killed while one person was injured when the two cars collided.
“M/V UAL 695U Mitsubishi Fuso was from Kampala to Masaka side while at Kasuule Ayanguwa Swamp in Kamengo along Masaka-Kampala highway collided with M/V UBH 247L Subaru Forester, which was from Masaka to Kampala, killing instantly three occupants in a Subaru Forester,” he said.
The injured individual in this Masaka-Kampala highway accident was rushed to Double Cure in Mpigi for medication whereas the three were taken to Gombe Hospital Mortuary. This comes a day after another horrendous accident in Entebbe claimed the life of a lawyer identified as Mr Okiot Raphael.
