Disturbing news coming in shows that today 18th March, a dog in Entebbe, Mawugulu cell, Katabi Town Council in Wakiso district bites a child and kills him instantly. This child belongs to Doctor Andrew Obuku who is the former president of Uganda Doctors Association (UDA).
How it happened
It’s alleged that today at around 1000 hours a dog that has always been tamed inside its kennel, escaped from it and it violently attacked and bite to death the baby boy that belongs to Dr. Obuku known as Raphael from his home located in Canaan Estate Mawugulu cell, Katabi town council in Wakiso district.
This incident (dog bites a child) happened when the boy’s parents had left him in the custody of the newly recruited housemaid, a one Nuwarinda Sharon. Upon being asked who things unfolded, she narrated that the boy was placed on the veranda of the house as she was doing her housework while watching over him.
She continued to say that, she saw the dog coming to attack the boy and she rushed pick him up, it grabbed him as she tried to struggle with the dog but it overpowered her and it bit the boy’s head badly.
More so, it also did a bite on the maid’s thigh. She then made a continuous alarm and when the dog killed the boy, it went back to its kennel. Later on, the neighbors arrived at Mr Obuku’s home and the boy was rushed to Kisubi Hospital.
He was pronounced dead moments after they made it to the hospital with him. Multiple sources indicate that the bites were so deep and very hard to manage. Being the fact that he was still young, it is assumed that his body could hardly fight back for a while.
Both Entebbe and Kisubi police swung into action and they went to the scene of the crime to manage the situation. Additionally, the SOCCO Kisubi police examined the crime scene and took samples of parts of the deceased’s body.
It was later on found out that, the dog has been hostile and it one time tried to attack people from the neighborhood. Sources reveal that it is due to its hostility that it was put in a kennel permanently.

More so, the door of the kennel was not well fixed which gave it a chance to sneak out. Additionally, the Doctor’s house is ever locked at the gate which made it so hard for the neighbours to rescue the situation.
The dog badly bit the boy’s head hence removing the internal organs of the head says the brain which is a rare behavior, this clearly indicates that the dog was sick. The body was taken to Kisubi Hospital first and later to Mulago for postmortem and the house maid was taken to Entebbe police station for safe custody.
