Comedian Maulana Kasozi the half of Maulana and Reign comedy duo is currently serving in Luzira prison over child neglect. He was sent there yesterday after court ruled that he failed to honor his Ugx10 million child support annually.
His arrest happened yesterday at Zone 7 in Natete where his second wife resides with there three children. This was intensified when his second wife Shubira Nalugya and their children were getting to a verge of being evicted from the house due to rent arrears.
He was sent to Luzira prison same day of arrest by the Mwanga II court presided over by Magistrate Adams Byarugaba and charged with child neglect. Magistrate Adams told him that they have been looking for him for failing to provide for a long time.
It should however be noted that, recently Maulana posted on social media giving his side of the story and why he neglected his wife and the children. He revealed how Shubira Nalugya attempted to poison him, and when she failed, she instead poisoned herself and she was rushed to the hospital.
