Christmas travel gets stiffer, transport fares double as a crisis has ensued in the transport sector. Bus companies are getting stranded with passengers after suffering insufficiency in buses to transport the overwhelming number of passengers. Since it is a festive season, many people are expected to be traveling to their respective villages.
This kind of panic about Christmas travel has caused a sharp rise in transport fares that have doubled across all bus companies offering transport. This is confirmed by our reporters who have gone through all bus terminals to collect the exact data that we have brought for you today.
As of 22nd December 21, 2023 buses are charging the following fares. Remember, we are giving you long routes, so that you can easily guess the possible fares for short routes. More so, we have covered Western, Eastern, Central and Northern parts of Uganda. They are as follows;
Kampala – Hoima is 35,000, Kampala – Luwero is 20,000, Kampala – Masindi is 35,000, Kampala – Mubende is 40,000, Kampla – Kyegegwa is 50,000, Kampala – Wanseko is 50,000, Kampala – Fortportal is 60,000.
More so, Kampala – Kasese is 65,000, Kampala – Bundibugyo is 65,000, Kampala – Masaka is 30,000, Kampala – Mbarara is 50,000, Kampala – Ibanda and Kamwenge is 70,000, Kampala – Bushenyi is 65,000, Kampala – Kabale is 75,000.
More routes are; Kampala – Kyesiga is 40,000, Kampala – Gulu is 80,000, Kampala – Malaba is 60,000. There are some of them, and they can give a clear picture of how things stand.
